The intention is that these forums will provide a friendly and stimulating discussion area for anyone interested in any historical or archaeological subjects. These guidelines are not an attempt to control the discussions but rather to help members to keep it an enjoyable place for all – remember your posts may well be read by youngsters.
- All posts must be in English. Members should be tolerant of others for whom this is not their first language.
- Be polite and respect other users.
- Disagreements between members are normal and can stimulate discussion. However, personal attacks are completely different and must be avoided.
- No foul or obscene language or images will be allowed. No posting of any material that is racist, attack religions or minorities, or is illegal in any way is permitted.
- Please stay on topic and avoid short frivolous posts.
- Advertising or commercial posting is not permitted unless replying to a genuine request for such information.
- If you are looking for help then search the forum first to see if your question has already been answered.
- Any posts that are deemed to be inappropriate, for whatever reason, will be edited or removed.
- Persistent disregard for the forum or its users may result in a temporary suspension of membership or a full ban.
Members- Member’s profiles must have a valid e-mail address at all times. Members can set this to be kept private and hidden from forum users.
- Members can only have a single account on the Web Historian forum. They must not impersonate others and pretend to post in their name.
- Members names must not be a web address.
These guidelines are to be read as a supplement to the registration agreement. Be aware that both may be amended and extended as necessary.

A private messaging system is provided to allow members to contact each other without the need to publish your e-mail address. Avoid posting personal information on the forum – use the private messaging systems to make initial contact and take it on from there.
Members should not post details of others without their consent.
