Introduction

There is an area right at the tip of the North East of Scotland known as the Knuckle. It's dotted with a number of fishing villages that have developed over the past centuries. Each has its own characteristics and its own story to tell.

The pages will cover the general history of the villages but with an emphasis on fishing from the village.

These pages are an attempt to build up a picture of these villages for all to enjoy. It will initially cover Broadsea, Fraserburgh, Cairnbulg, Inverallochy, St Combs, Boatlea, Rattray, Botany. Later work may see this extended to cover Drumlinie, Buchanhaven, Peterhead, Burnhaven, Boddam, Longhaven, Bullers of Buchan, Ward of Cruden, Sandend, Whinnyfold, Slains and Collieston.

Constantly under development

These pages are constantly under development. Some sections are a bit sparse at the moment but look back regularly to see what additions have been made.
